Gina has worked in and around education for over 20 years driving health, wellbeing, inclusion and equality, with particular expertise in outdoor and adventure learning, and youth and community development. Place Innovation is the result of a career that has spanned the public, private and charitable sector in the UK and internationally. Gina thrives on positioning social impact at the heart of schools, businesses, and charities through innovative partnerships, and an adventurous spirit for disrupting the accepted norm. She is the Project Lead and Founder of Place Schools Trust, and catalyst for Social Impact Training, co-created with her Associate partner Dave Harvey.
In her spare time, Gina is the Inclusion & Diversity Lead for the national Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres, Chair of the Community Interest Company for a flagship multi-million pound community activity centre, a Whitehaven Harbour Commissioner and Adventure Director for a major USA Summer Camp.
Dave has worked in the Outdoor Learning sector for almost 30 years, both as a qualified teacher and practitioner and in multiple senior leadership roles. Most recently this included Head of Residential Services for the Brathay Trust. He is a passionate supporter of the sector designing and delivering countless coaching, accreditation and development opportunities to maximise quality, reach and impact of outdoor learning.
Dave co-created Place Innovation's Social Impact Training and is a founding member of Place Schools Trust. He is currently studying for a PhD at the University of Cumbria looking into the reach and potential for Outdoor Learning.
